Gifts for Messy Play
Kids love making messes! Playing with messy things is very good for their development. They learn about the properties of matter, measuring, volume, density, hand-eye coordination, color mixing, and other awesome science and math topics. Today's All Wrapped Up series post is focused on making messes and the best toys and products for having fun. I hope you enjoy.
Bath time is a great place for messy play because clean up is very easy. First on the list is the Gelli Slime Baff, as seen on Youtube. Crayola has a lot of bath time art supplies, like these totally NOT tear-free Crayola Finger Paint Soap, which turns to super bubbly bath when it gets wet. My kids love the Crayola Bath Color Dropz, because they change the color of the water and allow lots of fun color mixing. If your kids are ready for more advanced color mixing, the Crayola Bath Time Color Lab looks like lots of fun. The little artist will love the Crayola Bath Tub Markers and Crayon Set for drawing masterpieces on the shower wall. The Crayola Bath Fizzes are a child-version of the popular bath fizzes that they're parents use. Bath tub is also a great time for filling and pouring with the Green Sprouts Stacking Cups as your child explores the properties of liquid. Another classic bath tub toy is Mr Bubbles Bubble Bath, although, there are many other options in stores, too. Bath toys like the Bath Basketball Hoop extend bath time play to make it a full-length activity. Click on the links to put these awesome toys under the tree.
Another great location for messy play is outside! The Little Tikes Sink has a real working faucet to provide the water for the mud. A Watering Can can be used for cleaning up hands or adding more water to the mess. For outdoor cooking, the Melissa and Doug Pots and Pans Set is very durable and adds lots of meal options. Add the Melissa and Doug Cooking Utensils for stirring up yummy treats from grass and leaves. Many families enjoy making their own durable play food by Painting Rocks or Wood Cookies. Real grown-up kitchen tools like Small Pie Pans and Cupcake Pans. I also recommend a Green Toys Dump Truck for mud play. Click on the links to add these to your gift giving list.
Don your Learning Resources Lab Coat and get ready for some messy sensory play! Mix up some experiments, potion, or slime with the Learning Resources Science Lab, portioning it all out with Measuring Spoons. Learn about different slime recipes and things you can add to them to change them by grabbing a copy of The Ultimate Slime Guide book. If your child enjoys water, they'll love Water Beads. Add the Learning Resources Fine Motor Tool Kit for more pouring and scooping fun with water beads, sand, pom poms, and more. Kids can stamp and mold Kinetic Sand or use the Learning Resources Measure and Pour Set to explore volume with regular sand or water. All types of sensory play would benefit from the Melissa and Doug Cooking Utensils for mixing up concoctions. A themed sensory bin would make a great gift! Click on the links to view the products.
